an exploration in materiality and ecology

Suzette Jackson is an artist and designer working from her studio in Apollo Bay on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road. Her arts practice spans ceramics, painting and printmaking, with a strong focus on form and texture, earth-based materials and salvaged objects, grounded in design practices and ecological studies.

Working across design, art and circular economy, Suzette brings a nature based approach to her work. She is passionate about creating art that is beautifully designed, thoughtfully made, using responsible materials.

Growing up in southwest Victoria travelling the volcanic plains and coastlines shaped Suzette’s deep connection to place and community. These landscapes continue to influence her work, reflecting the land she lives on and the delicate balance of natural systems.

Whether in her own studio, visiting artists or art residencies, natural textures and salvaged materials provide inspiration to Suzette’s art work. Through her travels she is constantly developing her arts practice, exploring new friendship, techniques and practices.

Suzette Jackson Studio offer a range of workshops located at Noonyara Retreat, led by Suzette and guest artists. These workshops allow us to share art practices, design skills and knowledge while encouraging sustainable arts practices.
